Foreign Languages for Kids is a Spanish video programme for Years 1-8 (Key Stages 1-3).
The core of the curriculum is a multi-level video series featuring children speaking Spanish in day-to-day life and common child-related activities. Each level includes:
- Video Lessons
- Listening and Reading Quizzes
- Interactive Workbooks
- Culture and Geography Unit
- Student Scorecards and Teacher Mark Books
Plus, students may also use the programme at home.
What is unique about this programme?
The video series uses a gradual, building-block immersion in a fun sit-com with an ongoing plot and humorous characters. The goal is to provide the next best thing to going through a day with other children and a family speaking Spanish. The language is taught in context, with visual cues and other graphics. Spanish is broken down into small, manageable chunks and then consistently repeated in different contexts. This material is then integrated into different combinations of words and phrases into full sentences and then paragraphs. The result is a built-in review and the repetition needed for the material to be retained – yet in a more natural and entertaining (and not monotonous) way. Students are able to retrieve the material quickly and converse in full sentences. Students look forward to their Spanish classes and develop confidence as well as a positive attitude towards language learning.

Which ages (Year groups) is the programme for?
Most of our schools use our programme for children from Year 1 to Year 9 (Key Stages 1-3). Teachers of older students will often use the videos as a class supplement as they are well-made and memorable.
Can the programme be used as a supplement to my own materials or curriculum?
Absolutely. Our curriculum is easily customised so teachers get the programme that works best for their students. It can be used in as little as five minutes or for the entire class.
Are there Teacher’s Guides?
Yes, each level has a complete Teacher Guide with lesson plans and a list of activities to choose from depending on the teacher’s specific objectives and class schedules. It makes the programme very easy to implement. In addition, no two classes are ever the same which keeps the students engaged and enthusiastic.
Are other languages offered in addition to Spanish?
Our French and Mandarin programmes are currently in development and will be released in 2020 and 2021, respectively.
