Making French Coursework Work is a tutoring program that takes students through the steps necessary to produce GCSE coursework.
Chapters are short and clearly structured. They include: making it interesting, choosing the right tense, le or la? (and why it matters), à / de / en or dans, making good French better, ten tempting traps, getting the best out of your dictionary.
The program does not 'produce' coursework - but it does try to help each student produce the best work of which they are capable.
The program allows teachers to change or add text. This allows teachers to give specific page references of textbooks that might be useful, resources, etc.

Internet Text Exploiter: Have you ever wondered how to exploit the huge range of texts on the Internet?
This program allows you to paste in any text and make a range of language exercises. Once you have chosen a text, it takes three mouse clicks (about 30 seconds) to make any one of a number of exercises. You can make a gapped transcription exercise. Each student has a partially completed story and has to give another student the text he requires. This activity practises speaking, reading and writing as well as grammatical understanding. You can also remove all spaces from a text so that students have to indicate the start and end of individual words. Other exercises allow you to strip individual letters (e.g. é, è, ê) or words (le, la, les) from a text. Items can be removed all at once or in response to a prompt. The next step to be taken is always clearly indicated. The program also includes links to Internet sites that have suitable texts for exploitation and full teachers' notes. Accented characters for French, Spanish, German. Also suitable for Russian and Chinese.

This program is based around a number of games to teach the basic rules and tendencies. We all know that most words ending in a silent ‘e’ are feminine – but do students also know that all cars are feminine? What about months, days of the week, seasons or decimal measures? The program is based around games which complement easy to follow explanations. There is also a test mode. Teachers can decide how much help students receive and can even add their own comments and revision tips to the games. The simplest levels are suitable for KS2 whilst the higher levels will test (and help!) those aiming for the top grades at GCSE.
