Doki® is an exciting new way to learn the basic essentials of a foreign language.
The programme is organised like a city with shops, hotels and parks and a population of animated characters. In visiting the restaurant to order a meal or going to the supermarket, players absorb new language, just as they would on a trip abroad.
Comprehension is monitored with interactive, games-based tasks that practice listening, writing and reading skills. Additional features include a talking dictionary, pronunciation zone and voice recording and playback facility.
Modular and therefore highly flexible in use, the programme enables learners to practise essential functions such as asking directions, expressing likes and dislikes and describing people; the loosely structured approach takes the learner from introductory scenarios to practices exercises.
Doki® is suitable for Key stages 3&4, ages 12 to adult and Scottish 5 – 14 Level D-16+Languages currently available on CD-ROM and online are English, French, Spanish (Castilian) and Spanish (Latin American).
